Baby Gender Selection - Can I Influence It?

You may be interested in having some say in what sex your baby will be. Your reasons might be based on family medical history or you may simply want to balance your family out. Baby gender selection is possible and can be achieved through several methods which are readily available.

The sex of the baby is determined by many factors, including the health conditions of the woman. It is important that before becoming pregnant, a woman pay close attention to getting her body in the best shape possible. Essential vitamins and minerals must be consumed each day to insure that her upcoming pregnancy gets off to the best start.

Every woman’s body is different and suggested health tips vary depending on the woman’s dietary needs. There are some theories that suggest that a mother’s health before pregnancy does influence what the sex of her baby will be. Therefore, she has a choice to make when considering what she should do to increase her chances of conceiving her child of choice and having a say in baby gender selection.

It is not clear whether or not a mother’s weight plays a role in fetal sex selection. What’s also not clear is it the added calories or is it that more nutrients are introduced into the body? Studies show that males are the weaker sex and male sperm often die on their way to fertilize the female egg. Even after implantation, they are more likely to die in utero or die in the first few days of life. Therefore, it seems clear that pre-pregnancy diet alone does not affect how strong the male or female sperm will be. What the woman eats might affect the strength of the sperm but probably has no affect at all on determining baby’s gender. Yet, a woman’s diet might have some significance in the survival of female vs. male sperm.

Some researchers believe that the way to influence the sex of your unborn baby is to concentrate on what you eat for breakfast. One study found that those mothers who ate cereal for breakfast gave birth more often to boys. In the same study, it was found that consuming more calories each day also resulting in male births.

Going into a pregnancy healthy is the first step for a woman to take to assure that her body is ready to support a new life. Baby gender selection is an area that does prove interesting and some couples are willing to attempt anything to ultimately get the child of their choice.
